We always saw big carp swimming around our local forest preserve lake, but due to weeds we could never find a good spot to fish for them from shore. One day we decided to get together all of our carp gear and walk about a mile to the farthest point on the lake away from the parking lot.
We were beat when we got there but the lack of weeds seemed promising. We tossed in a few handfuls of corn to chum the big carp over, and ten minutes after we got lines in the water we hooked into this brute. He/She has been one of many we have pulled off of this spot since then.
The walk is always worth it in the end.
